Dreads are Dead

Today, I have finished the very last of the dread accent kits and they will  be available on my storenvy very soon.

It is sad that I've closed up shop for good, but I'm glad I'm doing it. 
I no longer enjoy making kk dreads. I'm not sure if it's the drop in the economy that had me down for so long or if it just isn't meant for me.

I started making dreads over 7 years ago. It was one of the most exciting experiences in my life, even to this day. It used to give me butterflies! Obviously, I didn't get well known for it for very long, but the adventure was worth it!

Maybe some day I'll come back to it, maybe an alternative to kk dreads will come about, maybe it's a dead trend. Who knows?

*Dreadful* Hair Talk

I finally made a video explaining a bit about the different kind of dreads/extensions I've had in the past!!

I know an ass load of people have made videos similar to this, I'm slow to jump on the band wagon. But, with fall right around the corner, I KNOW I'm gonna want dreads again, I would love to be more involved with my people and have extensive conversations on the alternative lifestyle matter thang <3

Re-Re-Revisiting My Hair Journey

Ok, here we go. I plan on making this a video, lets put it in WERDS First.

I started with black hair:

Then, Lightened to:

Then, Colored purple with homemade purple dye:

I didn't like how dark the majority of it was, so I lightened and re-dyed:

 It faded to:

Oh my, I was EXTREMELY upset with this

 So, I did some soul searching, I knew I needed something that matched ME.

I took some online hair color quizzes, personality quizzes, they all pointed to this:

YES, MY HAIR IS RED!!! And I love it!!! Its really pinky on top and transitions into crimson! BEAUTIFUL!!

Purple Hair Update!

Due to personal crap, I haven't posted a whole lot any where lately. I think its easier to whine about my shit than it is to post helpful or interesting stuff, I'm not sure if that makes me selfish or self-centered, either way, my apologies.

*sigh* OK, my hair story, haha.

To pick up where we left off…THE MESS I MADE!

Then a few days after the color had time to fade a bit…

As you can see, my bottom layer is very dark, it still looks almost black.

HOMEMADE PURPLE DYE FTW!!! I love it, I'm just excited to lighten it a bit so it blinds everyone with its purple glory :)

My Recent Hair Journey pt.2

BEFORES

As I said before "I can't leave my hair alone!"

After my disappointing encounter with my last attempt, this is what I did:

• Further searched for options
• Had a semi-melt down
• My bestest bought a box of "Born Blonde" 
• Applied the Born Blonde to head, following the instructions closely
• Almost DIED from the fumes of that stuff
• Freaked out when the pink I mixed with the purple SURVIVED the born blonde
• Sigh of relief when the majority of it washed away with my healing hair masque 
• Jumped for joy this morning when my hair looked like this:

Don't mind mah mornin' fayce XP

And, Right Now:

Mah hand is purple beecause I am strand testing a wonderful Homemade Hair dye! Its actually working wonderfully! MUCH better than the color jamz <3

Now, Please know that I am not smashing on Color jamz!!! I really love their colors and prices! My whining is only due to my OWN hair! If I could get my hair super bright, bet yo azz that I'd be using some color jamz on mah head.

My Recent Hair Journey

Recently, I had talked about going back to purple….

The steps I took:

1.  Bleach bath (30 vol developer) half bleach, half shampoo
2. 3/4 just bleach (30 vol)
3. One week later, another 3/4 just bleach (30 vol)
4. A few days later, a full head bleach(30 vol)
5. Again, full head bleach(30 vol)
6. All of my hair being orange now, I tried Color Jamz purple and pink mix….

Summed up in 13 seconds:

It DID NOT turn out how I wanted!!!

I told myself that I should have used manic panic BECAUSE, it sticks to darker blonde and orange WAAAY better than color jamz :'(

But, now….I have to find a magical way to pull money out of my ass….meaning I have to find a crappy minimum wage job until school starts.

Though, my life seems to be sharting on me once more, I must take it for what it is and not complain.

If you are trying to get away from black dyed hair, I'm so sorry to inform you….You MUST bleach it. I've tried EVERYTHING ELSE! And bleaching is the most efficient and fast way to do so.

ALWAYS deeeeep condition! Let your hair rest between bleaches and good luck. Hope you enjoyed either way :)
