Personal Post About My Life

Life update number 398465875689265
Lol

So, my poor grandma. If you follow my personal posts, you know she suffers from Alzheimer's/Dementia and I stay home to help take care of her.
Well, one day she woke up grinding her teeth and has done it almost everyday since (about 1 year). She has a bridge of 4 teeth in the front that she's had for a long time now and just yesterday, my uncle had a daymare about her bridge breaking and her swallowing it. We all agreed, that would be one of our worst nightmares and hope it never happens.

This morning was like any other, I got Gabe up for work, made him coffee and kissed him goodbye. I promptly went inside to help with grandma's breakfast when I noticed that she looked sad and uncomfortable, more than usual. I asked her about 20 times if she was okay, and every time she'd just look at me with this upset look. I watched as grandpa tried to get a mouth guard into her mouth but she quickly chewed it like a piece of gum, lol.

I went into my room to watch Chowder while I drank the rest of my coffee and checked all my social media sites..."Cort?! CORTNEY!!" My grandpa was in a panic as he hollered for me. I jumped like a cat and ran to see what was wrong. "Momma's teeth...they're gone!!" He said with terror on his face, "Help me find them!"

He tore apart the bedroom, ripped through the hall and into the living room. "Found 'em!" He picked them up off the floor and plopped them in my hand and took off like lightening once more.

He called our family dentist office and they quickly rushed us in. We had 15 minutes to get momma's shoes on, get her in the truck and there. I had  to get my mom, I knew I couldn't do it by myself.

My mom jumped out of bed, tossed her mother over her shoulder and into the truck. We were off! By the time we met up at the office, grandpa already had his wife out of the truck and into the dentist chair! I giggled at his speed, despite the gravity of his panic.

It took 4 people to gently hold her down while the dentist forced her mouth open when she let out the most blood curdling scream that brought tears to my eyes, she was absolutely terrified! I kept holding her hands as softly as I could and telling her "I'm here, momma. Look at me, sweetheart, I'm here." She held my hands and pulled me in. My stomach clenched when I thought about how she must've felt. My mom had to hold her own mother still while the dentist did his best gluing the bridge back on while her head jerked back and forth.

The nurses were so nice and patient with her, I kept thanking them during the procedure.
When it was all done, grandma sat up and this sly smile just stretched across her face and we all laughed. All that fussing and screaming and she smiles! Haha.

We get her home safely, then mom and grandpa leave to take care of some banking. I continuously checked grandma's teeth to make sure they were still there.
When they got back, they brought with them soft tacos hoping it'd be easier for grandma to eat...
Her first bite and the bridge fell off AGAIN! Now we are looking at an even more heartbreaking procedure where we have to drug her so they can fix her teeth more efficiently.

At first, she was very self conscious about it, surprisingly. But, after a while, it seemed to be more of a relief to her...now we are considering the fact that she may not like having that big bridge there. She has been much more interested in food AND drink since, sooo...maybe we should leave well enough alone?

Today has been too eventful for me, thats for damn sure!
Prophetic dreams, real life, unreal life...its just too much! LOL

Its not even 9 pm and I'm sooo ready for bed, man.
I have TONS I want to do tomorrow, heres to wishful thinking :)
